Thank you for using our products and services (“Services”). The Services are provided by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (“RCPI” “we” “our” “us”). Our administrative offices are located at Frederick House, 19 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.
RCPI is a postgraduate medical institution. Our Services, information and content are for general and educational purposes. They are not a substitute for professional advice provided by a doctor or other qualified healthcare professionals.
By using our Services, you are agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully. Our Services are diverse, so sometimes additional terms or product requirements may apply.
Additional terms will be available with the relevant Services, and those additional terms become part of your agreement with us if you use those Services.
Using Our Services
You must follow any policies made available to you within our Services. Don’t misuse our Services. For example, don’t interfere with our Services or try to access them using a method other than the interface and the instructions that we provide.
You may use our Services only for lawful purposes, and in a way which does not restrict or inhibit the use by others, or infringe their rights. We may suspend or stop providing our Services to you if you do not comply with our terms of use and privacy statement.
Using our Services does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our Services or the content you access. You may not broadcast, copy, download, frame, reproduce, republish, post, transmit, merge, edit, adapt, resell, re-use, produce similar or otherwise use our Services and/or content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial, non-business use.
Any use of our Services and/or content requires the prior written permission of RCPI. Our Services and/or content including but not limited to text, images and logos identifying RCPI, or third parties, are subject to copyright, design rights and trademarks and/or other intellectual property rights owned by RCPI and/or third parties. You are not permitted to use any trademark, patent, design right, database right, copyright or any other intellectual property right of RCPI and/or
any other third party without the prior written consent of RCPI or the third party.
Our Services may display, reference or provide links to some content that is not RCPI’s. Any such content is provided for your convenience. RCPI does not exercise any control or supervision of such content, it is the sole responsibility of the entity that makes it available.
RCPI will not be held responsible for any content, advertising, products, services or information on third party websites. Third party websites are not covered by these Terms of Use, and RCPI accepts no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
In connection with your use of the Services, we may send you service announcements, administrative messages, and other information. You may opt out of some of those communications.
Your RCPI Digital Services Account
You may need an RCPI Digital Services Account in order to use some of our Services. You may create your own RCPI Digital Services Account, or your account may be provided to you by an RCPI administrator. If your account has been provided to you by an RCPI administrator, different or additional terms may apply.
By having an RCPI Digital Services account you may access Services that include but are not are not limited to, @physicians email, The Physician Network, Moodle, Members Centre, ExOrdo, ePortfolio, RCPI Committees, HST Recruitment, BMJ journals, BMJ.com, BMJ.com, The Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine.
Some of these services may be provided by third parties where additional terms or product requirements may apply. These services are the sole responsibility of the entity that makes it available and are not covered by these Terms of Use.

Privacy and Data Protection
RCPI’s privacy statement explains how we treat your personal data and protect your privacy when you use our Services. By using our Services, you agree that RCPI can use such data in accordance with our privacy policies. You can find our Privacy Statement here.
Your Content in our Services
Some of our Services allow you to submit content. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours, unless you have given explicit consent.
When using our Services you must not input or upload any material that is:
- Confidential, illegal, untrue, misleading or technically harmful; information you may wish to obtain
- Intellectual property protection for in the future; would infringe on the rights of others
- Contains third party personal data and in particular patient identifiable information.

Modifying and Terminating our Services
We are constantly changing and improving our Services. We may add or remove functionalities or features, and we may suspend or stop a Service altogether.
You can stop using our Services at any time, although we’ll be sorry to see you go. RCPI may also stop providing Services to you, or add or create new limits to our Services at any time. We believe that you own your data and preserving your access to such data is important. If we discontinue a Service, where reasonably possible, we will give you reasonable advance notice and a chance to get information out of that Service.
Our Warranties and Disclaimers
We provide our Services using a commercially reasonable level of skill and care and we hope that you will enjoy using them.
Using our Services is at your own risk. RCPI may add, alter or delete material at any time at its discretion. RCPI make every reasonable effort to include accurate and up-to-date information across our Services but gives no warranties, undertakings or representations of any kind as to its accuracy, currency, quality, completeness or fitness for purpose.
Other than as expressly set out in these terms or additional terms, neither RCPI nor its suppliers make any specific promises about the Services. For example, we don’t make any commitments about the content within the Services, the specific functions of the Services, or their reliability, availability, or ability to meet your needs. We provide the Services “as is”.
RCPI does not warrant that functions and content contained in our Services will be uninterrupted or error free, will be compatible with all or any hardware or software which users may use, that defects will be corrected, or that our Services or the server that makes them available are bug free.
Liability for our Services
RCPI will not be liable for any loss or damages whatsoever, however caused, arising from or in connection with the use of, or inability to use our Services.
The Physician Network
The Physician Network, one of the RCI Online Services, has a separate Terms and Conditions and a user must agree to these Terms and Conditions before accessing thatService.
About These Terms
We may modify these terms or any additional terms that apply to a Service to, for example, reflect changes to the law or changes to our Services. You should look at the terms regularly.
By continuing to use our Services after changes are posted you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use and Privacy Statement from as updated or amended.
If you do not agree to the modified terms for our Services, you should discontinue your use of our Services.
